Chris von Csefalvay is an AI researcher and computational epidemiologist. He is a Principal at HCLTech’s AI Practice, leading post-training research and clinical intelligence. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he was educated at Oxford, Leiden and Cardiff.

His first monograph, Computational Modeling of Infectious Disease, was published by Elsevier in 2023. He is also the author of The Craft of Post-Training: A Practical Guide for AI Engineers and Developers, which No Starch Press lists as available July 2026. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and is board certified in public health (CPH).
